മലയാള സിനിമയില്‍ എക്കാലത്തെയും വലിയ ബോക്സ് ഓഫീസ് പൊട്ടന്‍ഷ്യല്‍ ഉള്ള താരമാണ് മോഹന്‍ലാല്‍ എന്നത് ഇന്‍ഡസ്ട്രിയിലെ ഏതൊരാളും സമ്മതിക്കുന്ന കാര്യമാണ്. സമീപവര്‍ഷങ്ങളില്‍, വിശേഷിച്ചും കൊവിഡ് കാലത്തിനിപ്പുറം ആ പൊട്ടന്‍ഷ്യല്‍ മലയാള സിനിമ ശരിക്കും തിരിച്ചറിയുന്ന സമയമാണ് ഇത്. അടുത്തടുത്ത്, വെറും 29 ദിവസങ്ങളുടെ അകലത്തില്‍ എത്തിയ അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്‍റെ രണ്ട് ചിത്രങ്ങള്‍ നേടിയ കളക്ഷന്‍ അമ്പരപ്പിക്കുന്നതാണ്. ഇതോടെ കൊവിഡ് കാലത്തിന് ശേഷമുള്ള മോളിവുഡ് ബോക്സ് ഓഫീസില്‍ മറ്റ് താരങ്ങളേക്കാള്‍ ബഹുദൂരം മുന്നിലെത്തി അദ്ദേഹം.
എമ്പുരാന്‍ പുറത്തെത്തിയ മാര്‍ച്ച് 27 ന് മുന്‍പ് എത്തിയ ഒരു കണക്ക് പ്രകാരം കൊവിഡിന് ശേഷമുള്ള റിലീസുകളില്‍ നിന്ന് മമ്മൂട്ടി ചിത്രങ്ങള്‍ 500 കോടിയിലേറെ നേടിയിരുന്നു. എന്നാല്‍ മോഹന്‍ലാല്‍ ചിത്രങ്ങളുടെ ആകെ ഗ്രോസ് 478 കോടി ആയിരുന്നു. എന്നാല്‍ എമ്പുരാന്‍ റിലീസിനിപ്പുറം മലയാളത്തിന്‍റെ പോസ്റ്റ്-കൊവിഡ് ബോക്സ് ഓഫീസ് ചിത്രം മൊത്തത്തില്‍ മാറ്റിയെഴുതപ്പെട്ടു. മലയാളത്തിലെ റെക്കോര്‍ഡ് ഓപണിംഗുമായി കുതിച്ച എമ്പുരാന്‍ സമ്മിശ്ര പ്രതികരണങ്ങള്‍ക്കിടയിലും ബോക്സ് ഓഫീസ് റെക്കോര്‍ഡുകള്‍ മാറ്റിയെഴുതി. മലയാള സിനിമയുടെ ചരിത്രത്തിലെ എക്കാലത്തെയും വലിയ കളക്ഷന്‍ നിലവില്‍ എമ്പുരാന്‍റെ പേരിലാണ്. 325 കോടിയുടെ ടോട്ടല്‍ ബിസിനസ് നേടിയ ചിത്രത്തിന്‍റെ ആഗോള ബോക്സ് ഓഫീസ് കളക്ഷന്‍ 266.68 കോടിയാണെന്ന് പ്രമുഖ ട്രാക്കര്‍മാരായ സാക്നില്‍ക് പറയുന്നു.
വെറും 28 ദിനങ്ങള്‍ക്കിപ്പുറം മറ്റൊരു മോഹന്‍ലാല്‍ ചിത്രം കൂടി തിയറ്ററുകളിലേക്ക് എത്തി. തരുണ്‍ മൂര്‍ത്തി സംവിധാനം ചെയ്ത തുടരും. ഏപ്രില്‍ 25 ന് വലിയ പ്രീ റിലീസ് പബ്ലിസിറ്റി കൂടാതെ തിയറ്ററുകളിലെത്തിയ ചിത്രം പ്രേക്ഷകാഭിപ്രായങ്ങളില്‍ എമ്പുരാനെ കാതങ്ങള്‍ക്ക് മറികടന്നു. മോഹന്‍ലാലിലെ നടനെയും താരത്തെയും കൃത്യമായ ചേരുവകളില്‍ ഒരിക്കല്‍ക്കൂടി അടയാളപ്പെടുത്തിയ ചിത്രം പ്രേക്ഷകരുടെ മനം കവര്‍ന്നതോടെ ബോക്സ് ഓഫീസില്‍ സംജാതമായ മാജിക് ഇപ്പോഴും തുടരുകയാണ്. സാക്നില്‍കിന്‍റെ തന്നെ കണക്ക് പ്രകാരം ചിത്രം ഇതുവരെ ആഗോള ബോക്സ് ഓഫീസില്‍ നിന്ന് നേടിയിരിക്കുന്നത് 166.6 കോടിയാണ്. അതായത് വെറും 41 ദിനങ്ങള്‍ കൊണ്ട് മോഹന്‍ലാല്‍ ചിത്രങ്ങള്‍ ആഗോള ബോക്സ് ഓഫീസില്‍ നിന്ന് നേടിയിരിക്കുന്നത് 433 കോടിയാണ്! മോളിവുഡില്‍ മറ്റൊരു താരത്തിനും ഇതുവരെ അവകാശപ്പെടാന്‍ സാധിക്കാത്ത നേട്ടമാണ് ഇത്.
ഒപ്പം കൊവിഡ് അനന്തര ബോക്സ് ഓഫീസിലും മോഹന്‍ലാല്‍ സഹതാരങ്ങളേക്കാള്‍ ബഹുദൂരം മുന്നിലെത്തി. എമ്പുരാന്‍ റിലീസിന് മുന്‍പ് അത് 478 കോടി ആയിരുന്നെങ്കില്‍ ഇന്നത്തെ കണക്കനുസരിച്ച് അത് എത്തിനില്‍ക്കുന്നത് 911 കോടിയില്‍ ആണ്. തുടരും ഇപ്പോഴും മികച്ച ഒക്കുപ്പന്‍സിയിലാണ് പ്രദര്‍ശനം തുടരുന്നത് എന്നതിനാല്‍ ഈ സംഖ്യ ഇനിയും ഉയരും. ജനപ്രീതി പരിഗണിക്കുമ്പോള്‍ തുടരുമിന്‍റെ ഫൈനല്‍ ബോക്സ് ഓഫീസ് ഇപ്പോള്‍ പ്രവചിക്കാന്‍ സാധ്യമല്ലാത്ത അവസ്ഥയാണ്.
